There’s no doubt that Rihanna is a super influential star, but did anyone guess her next move would be politics?

Well, maybe we should because there’s nothing this Queen can’t do.

On top of being a chart-topping songstress, fashion icon, designer and makeup mogul, she’s now Barbados’ new “Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary” according to a statement from the Barbados Government Information Office.

As Ambassador of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for the nation (a term you’ve most likely never heard before), RiRi is in charge of promoting education, tourism, and investment for the island, said the same statement issued on behalf of Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley. However, this isn’t the first time Rihanna’s been involved with the Barbados government. Nor has it been the first time she’s poured her time, money and efforts into philanthropic causes. In 2008 the singer became one of Barbados’ cultural ambassadors and did promotional work for its tourism industry.

She also founded a non-profit in 2012 called the Clara Lionel Foundation, named after her grandparents Clara and Lionel Braithwaite, which benefits impoverished communities across the globe with healthcare and education among other various programs.

On Tuesday, Rihanna wrote her first opinion piece for The Guardian about the lack of accessible education for children around the world being something she can’t accept. She mentioned that while growing up in Barbados, she “often took it for granted” that she was even able to go to school.

In response to the Prime Minister’s comments about her new position, Rihanna said that she couldn’t be prouder to take on the title she has in her home country.

“Every Barbadian is going to have to play their role in this current effort, and I’m ready and excited to take on the responsibility,” Rihanna said. “I look forward to working with Prime Minister Mottley and her team to re-imagine Barbados.”
