KEY PLAYERS

Doughty/Rielly

The Kings’ Drew Doughty, one of the top three defencemen in the NHL, has yet to score through five games but is a plus-5. The Leafs’ Morgan Rielly, on the other hand, leads all blue-liners with 13 points in six games.

NEED TO KNOW

The Kings lost 5-1 to the Senators on Saturday in Dion Phaneuf’s return to Ottawa, falling to 2-2-1. They controlled the play early and outshot Ottawa 37-22, but too many penalties cost them. They’re averaging 9.8 penalty minutes a game, 10th-most in the NHL … The Leafs have the second-ranked power play at 47 per cent … With No. 1 goalie Jonathan Quick out indefinitely (lower-body injury), Jack Campbell made his fourth straight start for the Kings in Ottawa — and got the hook after allowing four goals on 11 shots, replaced by Peter Budaj … The Kings have not scored a power-play goal this season ... Leafs fans will no doubt have fun with former captain Phaneuf in town as a King, as well as Ilya Kovalchuk, back in the NHL after five seasons in Russia’s KHL.
