Brothers charged after man beaten with bats in Scarborough

Two brothers have been charged after a man was allegedly beaten unconscious by strangers with baseball bats.

Toronto Police were called on Saturday before 5 p.m. to McCowan Rd. and Thicketwood Dr. where officers located a man with serious injuries.

They allege the man was beaten with baseball bats by four men who then drove away in a van.

The victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and is now in stable condition.

Two brothers, aged 18 and 21, have been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Police are still searching for the two other suspects.

The victim did not know his attackers, police say.

**This is a corrected story. Police initially said the accused were twins. In fact, they are just brothers.
