One night, Autumn, the eldest daughter, told her mom she was getting ready for a dance recital. Shank expressed disappointment that she’d be missing the event, but Autumn was calmly reassuring. After the recital, the girl told her mom, “I’m gonna lay down on my bed, I’m gonna close my eyes, and I’m gonna think about you.”
